Who's attending? And what magick are they bringing?...

The literal meaning of "Abracadabra" is: "I will create, as I say"

Read on to find out who's coming this year and what they're excited about. Some have even begun to make magick with the power of their words, thoughts and intent...

What are you excited about? What will you bring?

Alice I am excited about re-meeting everyone. I love the moment of recognition through my many changes. Let's see if you can spot me this year!

I am also excited about the little treasures tucked into the woods. Our glorious conspiracy to bring wonderment to each other in tiny altars... deeply personal, yet whimsical, powerful and profound.

all the bees come to the hive
celebrate, honey!

Fredrick I am excited to be able reconnect with friends, family and the red woods after a 2 year absence.
What am I bringing?  I bring magic to conjure!

Martia I cannot wait to look upward to the star filled sky gleaming through the trees, the fire rising to await the dawning sun, and to the drumming that moves through me all the night long.
I bring playfulness along with arts and crafts materials to share with "children" of all ages. Look for future messages inviting you to engage in making art with me: mandala mobiles, energy bodies and more.....

Beth Burns I'm really excited about the workshops and deepening friendships that I started last year!
This year I will be bringing my beloved (it will be his first Phoenix Fire) and gods willing, we will be vending some of his beautiful woodworking as well.

Devi Lanphere I am excited to share the festival with new eyes and a new love and celebrate the event that brought us close. I am thrilled to bring my joy of the festival, healing hands and heart, and the joy of rising like the Phoenix in my personal life.

Dorothy Fast Horse I look forward to the happy faces of old and new friends, putting together the magic that is Phoenix Fire and living in the redwoods for a week.

Roe Griffith I am so looking forward to the wonderful sleep I get while the drums rock me into dreamland on the nights I don't stay at the fire all-night!

Jan Turkey Vulture Balcom I am gleefully anticipating some long, magical nights that will transport me via sound and light and movement and smell and connectivity to human and other spirits to where I need to be, to myself. I'll bring my joy, my energy, my hula hoop (if it fits in whatever space Gaiella & Chris have for me in their car), my worries & needs, my knowledge and ignorance, my songs & silences, my intentional presence, and my SILLINESS to share. (I will leave behind at home the multitude of rabbits that have been cavorting in mass around here this year (that reminded me of your Peter Rabbit persona) to keep their quail buddies company in my yard.) (I love parenthetical comments within parenthetical comments (don't you?).)

Crowraven
Danella (or LaLa)
I am most excited about having 3 full nights of uninterrupted dancing, chanting, singing, whispering and being around the fire and under the stars and moon. I am hoping to see the one I told each time I look up and see the Big Dipper I will call to you.my sister...have you heard me Erica..I missed you last year, and is my adopted daughter.tee hee going to be dancing with me this year ...Brie. Will Grandmother Moon bless me with more insight and messages and oh how will I stretch this year! Will White Calf Buffalo Woman grace us with her BEAUTY once again this year as she drums? What animal totems will come to me this year, OH OH OH how I hope to have Shimmering Wolf, Susan and Jade with us. Who will bring new friends..Michael and I are bring one dear dear person her name is Shara and maybe more..Dancing with Chris and Gaiella and my dear Gaiella will you be the first to hear what has changed for me once again...it seems it is you there in the circle when I am in need of sharing my heart thank you! Oh so many things...I must stop now or I will have to name everyone who drums, dances, sings, chants, moves, serves, heals and builds, to all of you I am grateful and excited to be with you again.

Exciting things I bring will not come from me but from God and Goddess coming thru me and I do not know what surprises they have in store for us this year.

Leif Granberg I'm excited to see more art and altars about the place - from quiet twinkling altars to the fey, to bold installations along the paths!

And, of course, to meet everyone in the magick of the circle - whirling dervishes, Pink Sailors, Glittering Glamourpusses and all!

Plus, I'm riding my bicycle to the Phire this year - hoorah for the phirey velorution!

This is my first Phoenix Fire. I know Michael & Danella Shea are looking forward to seeing me, and I am bringing my love for them. I am bringing the Well Worn Path and the Hidden Path decks created by Raven Grimassi & Stephanie Taylor. I am excited about the dancing & drumming, and being in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Yes, the only thing that could keep me away from Phoenix Fire last year was getting married to my beloved, Daniel. Many of you met him two years ago. We are both outrageously excited to join our Fire Family once again. We will be returning to create yummy food for the Village Builders (we are on for all of the dinners and at least one lunch). Also looking forward to helping build the magickal fires as we will also be tending fire ---- stoking the intense, cleansing, healing, empowering and supportive heat of our fire circles. For the first time we will be vending, offering brilliantly colored Hawaiian shirts, firewear and other assorted fun clothing. Can't wait to see you all and reconnect with the amazing fire family we have met and those we have yet to meet! Many blessings!

Gary Burkholder This will be my first time participating, and I am very excited to just get completely away and have a good time.

Oliver What I'm inspired about: Our wonderful magical community which is becoming stronger every year and touching more and more people. I'm looking forward to our council meeting, when I'll have the honor to sit down with some of the most amazing people I know and hear them speak all of the ways in which Phoenix Fire inspires and ignites their lives.

Max Your email brought a great vision of you banging out some crazy rhythm on the bell at first light while marching in place w/ your rattles and hitting the djun djun w/ a smile on your face ;-) I'm totally looking forward to playing w/ you soon - always a highlight of my fires at Phoenix Fire! And finally succeeding in bringing Lynda, one of my long time drumming friends -- after trying since 2001!

Margie & Mykel Harris We're involved in a lot of Pagan activities, but for me Phoenix Fire creates the most magickal space around the nightly fire for deep spiritual work. I crave and am grateful for that intense connection. Then of course, there are all the wonderful people to share it with. Blessed be.

Dragon Singing The thing I'm most excited about for this year's gathering is that I have a
clear intent and PF is a good place to work it.

I'm excited to find the courage to take my armor off.

Heck, maybe I'll get my poetry back, after all these years.

Peter van Gorder I'm looking forward to stumbling upon more faery alters in the woods. I'm bringing my solar ovens again AND a carbonation machine (that I made) - so bring me your juice and I'll carbonate it up! Additionally, I may even bring a compact version of my Advanced worm composting machine and do an ad-hoc worm composting demo!

If you want to share what you're excited to bring to this year's event, just send an email to: speakIntoTheFire@PetervanGorder.com and we'll post it for you.

Blessed be!
